DoD Manual for Standard Data Elements

Abstract

The purpose of this manual is to provide a current reference source for DoD-approved standard data elements and codes. In addition, it contains general guidelines and criteria for the standardization of data elements and data codes. Sections include: Standardization procedures and criteria, which specifies the procedures for standardizing data elements and codes in the Department of Defense and the criteria to be applied in the standardization process; DoD standard data elements and codes, which contains listings of all DoD standard data elements and data codes by standard reference number, name and keyword out of context; and Obsolete data elements and codes, which lists the obsolete DoD Data elements and data codes in standard reference number order, alphabetically by name, and by keyword out of context.
