Instrumentation Purchased

Abstract

The instrument purchased was a routine Fourier transform nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer for use by graduate students, research associates and faculty at the University of Southern California. The instrument is a JEOL (USA) Inc. Model JNM/FX-900 equipped with a dual 1H/13C omni probe and includes a micro insert. In September 1983, the instrument was received and was fully installed and meeting specifications by October 1983. Since installation the equipment has operated continuously and has had virtually no downtime. Usage of the instrument has developed to more than 100 hours per week and is now on a scheduled usage basis.
