Abstract

This report covers design, construction, and operational information on geotechnical features of the major elements of Waco Dam consisting of the embankment, spillway, and outlet works as well as operational performance of the project since its completion in 1965. Further, it presents information on the slide of a portion of the embankment during construction and information on redesign and reconstruction required for successful completion of the project. The report evaluates the performance of the embankment, particularly the critical phenomena such as foundation pore pressures.
