Experimental and Theoretical Studies of Light Scattering by Small Particles

Abstract

The following studies were made: (1) Scattering of ultrashort laser pulses by microscopic particles both experimentally and theoretically. (2) Plane wave scattering by small clusters of spheres in various configurations. (3) Symmetries of Mueller matrices for forward (0 deg) and backward (180 deg) scattering by dielectric particles of various shapes. (4) Optical scattering at zero degrees, and measurements of adsorption in the presence of high densities of scatters.
