Development of Computer Software for the Analysis and Design of Modern Control Systems
Abstract
With the wide spread availability of the personal computers to the control systems engineer, is would only make sense to supplement the time- honored techniques of using root locus and bode plots in the analysis and design of control systems with one that involves computer-aided support. Using the computer to do the mundane task of generating the graphs allows the designer to spend more time analyzing the system. This could also allow a student in a controls course the opportunity to learn more of the theory behind control systems analysis instead of spending all their time learning the tedious process of generating the graphs by hand. It was the purpose of this thesis to develop computer algorithms to automate this task in a easy to use format. This software is called the Control Systems Software Package (CSSP).
