Reflector Antenna Designs for Airborne Radar Applications
Abstract
This paper examines simple Cassegrain, Twist-Cassegrain, and Inverse Cassegrain reflector antenna designs for airborne radar applications. The author chooses an optimized Twist-Cassegrain design and examines its performance using the Hughes Vector Diffraction simulation run on an IBM 3038 mainframe at building R-2, Radar Systems Group, Hughes Aircraft Company, Los Angeles, CA. Numerous historical examples of Twist-Cassegrain designs are also presented. Theses. (JHD)
