Hyperbaric Pressure and Tissue Phospholipid Metabolism

Abstract

We have extended our studies on the morphological characterization of C6 and astrocyte cells which we described in our last Progress Report, by exposing the cultured cells to oxidative stress and monitoring the time dependent morphological and biochemical changes. These include observing oxy- radical induced biochemical changes in these cells by following changes in structural lipids and characterizing lipase activities in these cells. During this past year we have also begun to study endothelial cells in the same manner and the C6 and astrocyte cells. Keywords: Cellular damage; Free radicals.
