Abstract

The Twenty-third Explosives Safety Seminar was held August 9-11, 1988 at the Hyatt-Regency Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia. Topics in this issue include: fragment hazards: airblast interactions; explosives risk assessment; structural damage from blast; demilitarization/disposal/decontamination; quantity distance application; fire protection - deluge systems; debris hazards testing/analysis; far-field airblast effects and mitigation designs consideration; electrostatic discharge (ESD); underground explosion effects-large scale tests; wall and window response to blast loads; explosives facility design considerations; accident/explosion effects; shock sensitivity of explosives.
