Literature, Archival, and Historic Review Submerged Cultural Resources Lower Pascagoula and Escatawpa Rivers, Mississippi

Abstract

A literature, archival, and historic review was conducted to determine the potential for submerged historic resources in the Pascagoula and EScatawpa Rivers, Mississippi. This review revealed that there is little potential for these resources in the existing navigation channel. The review included primary and secondary source materials, cartographic review and interviews with local informants. Submerged historic resources, Shipwrecks, Navigation improvements, Lumber industry.
