A Model of Liquid Flow and Injection in a Regenerative Liquid Propellant Gun

Abstract

A model of the liquid flow and injection in a regenerative liquid propellant gun is presented. This model is based on a generalization of the Lagrange model which is normally applied to the gas flow in a gun tube. Gradient equations are presented for the liquid velocity and pressure in the reservoir. Coupled equations of motion for the injection piston and liquid injection are then developed and applied to a simplified regenerative LP gun geometry.
