Research on Statistical Techniques for Signal Processing

Abstract

The primary accomplishments of this grant were in the areas of: 1) signal detection in non-Gaussian noise, including nonparametric and robust detection; 2) nonlinear edge-preserving filtering of signals in impulsive noise, based on robust estimation procedures; and 3) applications in constant false alarm rate radar detection and image processing. Reference is made to 27 publications. Keywords: Radar signals; Nonlinear filters; Robust estimates; Rank estimates; Nonparametric detection; Non-Gaussian noise; CFAR radar.
