Abstract

This document is a collection of technical papers and speeches presented to the Twenty-eighth annual Army Operations Research Symposium (AORS XXVIII). The purpose of each AORS is to foster communication, exchange information, and recognize high quality work within the Army analytical community. The theme of this year's symposium was 'Maximizing Army Effectiveness.' General subject areas were: A. Readiness, Sustainability & Support to Forces in the Field; B. Testing, Field Experiments & Training; C. Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence on the Battlefield; D. System Effectiveness and Survivability on the Realistic Battlefield; E. Recent Advances in OR Methodology, Evaluation Techniques and Other Selected Topics; F. Force Design Planning, Programming & Modernization; G. Manpower and Personnel Analyses; H. Joint Forces and Strategic Operations; I. Cost Estimating and Analysis; J. Military Engineering. The PROCEEDINGS are printed in two volumes; Volume I contains all papers with unlimited distribution, and abstracts of others; Volume II contains papers with distribution limited to DoD components only.
