Ada Compiler Validation Summary Report: Certificate Number: 890804S1.10141 Loral/Rolm Mil-Spec Computers ADE, Revision 3.01 MV 10000 Host and HAWK/32 Target

Abstract

This Validation Summary Reports (VSR) describes th extent to which a specific ADA Compiler conforms to the ADA Standard, ANSI/MIL-STD-1815A. This report explains all technical terms used within it and thoroughly reports the results of testing this compiler using the Ada Compiler Validation Capability (ACVC). An Ada compiler must be implemented according to the Ada Standard, and any implementation-dependent features must conform to the requirements of the Ada Standard. The Ada Standard must be implemented in its entirety, and nothing can be implemented that is not in the Standard. The purpose of validating is to ensure conformity of the compiler to the Ada Standard by testing that the compiler properly implements legal language constructs and that it identifies and rejects illegal language constructs. The testing also identifies behavior that is implementation dependent, but is permitted by the Ada Standard. Six classes of tests are used. These tests are designed to perform checks at compile time, at link time, and during execution.
