Evaluation of Commercial Pneumatic Bandage

Abstract

A commercial pneumatic bandage was evaluated as a hemorrhage control system. Pressure characteristics of the device, 'ComPresAid' were determined and compared to the performance of conventional elastic bandages. It was determined that ComPresAid does not hold pressure as well as elastic bandages and has too many other disadvantages to be used in the combat casualty care environment. ice, Medical equipment, Performance.
