Safety Assessment of TACOM's Ride Motion Simulator

Abstract

This is a Safety Assessment of TACOM'S Ride Motion Simulator. The report details the system description and hazard controls in an effort to satisfy requirements for a Safety Release from the U.S. Army Test-Evaluation Command. The Ride Motion Simulator is designed to provide a controlled environment simulation of the ride a person in a wheeled or tracked vehicle would experience travelling over a specific terrain. The Ride Motion Simulator is designed to provide laboratory testing of new equipment or designs along with human interaction. Only military personnel will be test subjects in the simulator and will experience rides similar in severity to their normal duties.
