Naval Surface Warfare Center Technology Transfer Report (FY88)

Abstract

The objectives of Navy domestic technology transfer are to disseminate non-critical technology, originally developed in support of military applications, for potential alternative uses in the public and private sectors; and to promote joint cooperative development programs that address problems of mutual concern to the Navy and other agencies or organizations. In pursuit of these objectives, the Navy transfers technical expertise to other Federal Government agencies; state and local governments; small and large businesses; nonprofit organizations; and such public service organizations as schools, hospitals, and foundations. In addition, technologies that have direct impact on the Navy mission and programs are transferred within, or into, the Navy. Transfers of hardware, software, management practices, and expertise are made in diverse fields, such as analysis and testing, communications, energy, environment, transportation, and marine technology. The Navy Domestic Technology Transfer Program provides unique services not available from, or in competition with, the private sector. Content is limited to non-militarily critical technical material is approved for public release. (jg)
