The Installation Restoration Program Toxicology Guide. Volume 1
Abstract
The objective of the IRP Toxicology Guide is to serve as a basic day- to-day resource for USAF personnel who have responsibility for the management of hazardous waste, particularly in regard to contamination of ground-water supplies. The IRP Toxicology Guide was intended for and focused toward technical personnel with appropriate backgrounds to recognize the significance as well as the limitations of various test procedures and findings. In scope, the IRP toxicology Guide outlines the environmental fate and effects, exposure pathways, toxicity and sampling/analysis techniques for a selected list of chemicals, some of which, when accidently or unknowingly released to ground water may present a hazard. The material provided is intended as an overview of key topic areas; no attempt was made to provide a comprehensive review. (AW)
