Diffusion in the Thermal Degradation of NC Base Propellants

Abstract

A somewhat general discussion of diffusion in nitrocellulous base propellants is followed by a discussion of a kinetic model which predicts in a qualitative manner the features of the growth and decay of the various derivatives of 2NDPA during thermal degradation. Keywords: 2-Nitrodiphenylamine; Stabilizer; Propellant stability; Surveillance; Chemical kinetics; Accelerated aging; Nitroglycerin; Gun propellants.
