Acquisition of Contemporary Tactical Munitions. Volume 1. Summary Report

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study of the acquisition programs of 19 contemporary tactical air-and surface-launched munitions. The purpose of the study was to measure the outcomes of those programs in terms of the growth in development and production schedules and costs. Volume I of the paper presents the results of the analyses of program outcomes, characteristics, and acquisition policies. Volume II contains 13 case studies covering the 19 munitions in the study.
