Densification of Weapon Castings

Abstract

The usage of hot isostatic pressing to effect closure of porosity is reviewed in this report. Evidence is presented showing that hot isostatic pressing is effective in eliminating internal porosity, thus resulting in a marked improvement in mechanical properties. Hot isostatic pressing, Densification, Muzzle brakes, Porosity, Guns, Recoil mechanisms.
