A Study to Determine an Effective Administrative and/or Organizational System within Which to Implement Effective Quality Assurance Functions of the Pharmacy at Letterman Army Medical Center, That Meet JCAH and HSC Standards

Abstract

This study was done to determine an effective administrative and/or organizational system within which to implement effective quality assurance functions of the pharmacy at Letterman Army Medical Center that meet Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospitals and Health Service Command standards. The author concluded that a change in focus must be made, which concentrates on planned and systematic monitoring and evaluation of the quality and appropriateness of care, and away from administrative measures within the pharmacy.
