Sector Study Guideline

Abstract

This guideline relates to special studies under the Army Industrial Preparedness Program where domestic industrial sectors or commodity sectors are evaluated for meeting Defense requirements. Modern sector study activities are described in a framework of study parameters with checklists to assess production capability and capacity in Defense industries. The guideline reflects on Army effort towards a standard study approach for designing and performing future sector studies. It was prepared from a review of numerous sector studies of the 1980's such as bearings, torpedoes, investment castings, missiles, and optics. (EDC)
