DNA-Mediated Electron Transfer and Application to 'Biochip' Development

Abstract

We are studying the electronic properties of DNA to determine the applicability of this molecule to the design and microelectronic components. The properties of interest include the electronic coupling between stacked bases and their effects on conductance of DNA double helices. Single crystal polarized reflectance spectroscopy and photoflash kinetic methods are used for these studies. (JG)
