General Design Memorandum, Gulfport Harbor, Mississippi. Design Memorandum Number 1. Appendix F. Regional Impact and Financial Analysis

Abstract

General impacts were calculated using MARAD's Portkit input/output model for increases in jobs, business sales, and state incomes, taxes and port revenues. CERL's EIFS input/output model was used to calculate project construction impacts. Several payback scenarios were analyzed from the state prospective for cost recovery of both the Corps deepening project and container yard expansion project. A financial analysis included sources and uses of the state's share of costs of deepening the channel to 36 feet. (kr)
