Magnetostatic Wave Transducers, Resonators and Dispersion Control

Abstract

This report describes the design of magnetostatic surface waves (MSW) and transversal filters. A variable time delay device is described that uses a cascaded surface wave device and a backward volume wave device. Transducers composed of periodic arrays of shorted microstrip lines are described. Theoretical and experimental work has resulted in the first 'true' synthesized magnetostatic wave transversal filter. Furthermore, sample delay lines showed less than 16 dB insertion loss and 16 Hz bandwidth at 26 -40 GHz. Keywords: Transversal filters.
