Abstract

Health Manpower Statistics (HMIS) is published annually by the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Washington Headquarters Services, Directorate for Information Operations and Reports (WHS/DIOR), in support of the Office of Medical Readiness, Office of the Assistance Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs). This report provides a consolidation reference document for responding to numerous questions from the Administration, Congress, and others. It provides input for long range personnel planning models for the Military Departments and Department of Defense personnel managers. Specific questions on the data contained herein should be addressed to the Director of Manpower, Personnel and Training, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Health Affairs).
