The Role of Chromium in Whetlerite Activity

Abstract

The contribution of hexavalent chromium in ASC Whetlerite to the detoxification process of low molecular weight toxic gases was investigated. The investigation showed that the detoxification process involved redox reaction with hexavalent chromium that was reduced to three valent chromium. Keywords: Whetlerite, Chemical agents, Activated charcoal, Detoxification mechanism, Detoxification, Hydrogen chloride, Hydrogen cyanide, Chromium.
