Abstract

The Naval Medical Research Institute is the Navy's largest biomedical research facility. Commissioned in 1942, the institute's mission is to conduct basic and applied research aimed at the enhancement and protection of the health, safety, and efficiency of naval personnel. Ongoing studies are currently focused in the areas of casualty care, environmental medicine, infectious diseases, diving medicine, and immunobiology and transplantation research. The issue of the summaries of research consists of citations to reports of the naval medical research institute published during the calendar year. Keywords: Medical research, Bibliography.
