Tool for Studying the Effects of Range Restriction in Correlation Coefficient Estimation

Abstract

It is sometimes necessary to estimate correlations in samples that have been range restricted due to selection. These correlation are often diminished when compared to their population values. A correction for this subject of a proof which is discussed in the context of a computer-aided simulation procedure to study the nature and behavior of the correction.
