Compatibility of Elastomeric Seal Compounds with MIL-H-6083 and MIL-H- 46170 Hydraulic Fluid

Abstract

This report compares the relative deteriorative effects of typical suppliers' lots of MIL-H-6083 and MIL-H-46170 hydraulic fluids on off-the-shelf elastomeric seal and O-ring compounds. Comparisons are also made with results obtained using NBR-L, a reference material cited in AMS 3217. Keywords: Hydraulic fluids; Elastomers; Seals; O-Rings; Physical properties; Deterioration.
