Defense Small Business Innovation Research Program (SBIR). Volume 1. Army Projects, Abstracts of Phase 1 Awards from FY 1989 SBIR Solicitation

Abstract

On September 11, 1989, the Department of Defense (DoD) announced the selection of small business firms proposals under Phase I of the Fiscal Year (FY) 1989 DoD Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program to be funded upon successful completion of contract negotiations. The selection of proposals for funding was made from proposals received by the Military Departments, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), the Defense Nuclear Agency (DNA), and the Strategic Defense Initiative Organization (SDIO) in response to the FY 1989 solicitation distributed on October 1, 1988 with a closing date of January 6, 1990. In order to make information available on the technical content of the Phase I projects supported by the Department of Defense SBIR Program, this report represents, in four volumes, the abstracts of those proposals which have resulted in contract awards. This is Volume I which contains abstracts and contacts for the 92 Phase I projects funded by the Army from the FY 1989 SBIR program.
