A Database Storage System and the Sonic Digitizer Method for Radiographic Data Reduction Used by the Penetration Mechanics Branch

Abstract

A data reduction, storage, and analysis system is used by one team of the Penetration Mechanics Branch of the Terminal Ballistic Division of the Ballistic Research Laboratory. The reduction of penetrator/target interaction, as recorded via radiographs, and the analysis of the data in the computer data storage system are described in detail. Keywords: Data storage systems; Random access computer storage; Ballistics; Data bases; Radiographic analysis; Data reduction; Radiography.
