The Optical Properties of Aerosols

Abstract

The research performed by the group at the Istituto di Struttura della Materia of the University of Messina, Italy, was: (1) Comparison of the experimental data on the scattering properties of aggregated spheres with the results of our calculations. (2) Study of the effect of clustering and correlation on the optical properties of intermediate and high-density dispersions of spherical particles within the framework of an enhanced version of the Bruggeman model. (3) Density dependence of the absorption coefficient, in the low and intermediate-density regime, for a dispersion of metal particles.
