Source Emission Testing of Hospital Pathological Waste Incinerator K.I. Sawyer AFB, Michigan

Abstract

The 410 Strategic Hospital/SGPB requested source testing for particulate and visible emissions be conducted on the hospital Pathological Waste Incinerator. K.I. Sawyer AFB received a Notice of Violation from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources on the Pathological Waste Incinerator. Testing was accomplished on 28 Mar 90. The survey was conducted to determine if the incinerator will meet standards. Results indicate that the incinerator failed visible emission standards. A long term disposal method for pathological waste needs to be developed.
