Navigation Hydraulics Research Program: Evaluation of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute Physical Model Current Meter.

Abstract

In 1988, an exchange of physical model data measurement devices was made between the US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) and Nanjing Hydraulics Research Institute (NHRI), People's Republic of China. This report contains the WES evaluation of NHRI physical model current meter. The meter was subjected to tests in several WES facilities and found to be a useful instrument in studies involving large-scale physical models, flumes, and structural models. Keywords: Calibration, Current velocity direction sensor, Servo tracking, Threshold velocity. (jhd)
