Heat Stable Nuclease Contamination of Lysostaphin

Abstract

Lysostaphin is a mixture of enzymes used by researchers to lyse Staphylococci in order to release nucleic acid material. In this study we report that these same preparations contain nucleases which may reduce nucleic acid yield unless certain precautions are taken. (js)
