Structure and Properties of High Symmetry Composites

Abstract

This report describes the concept formulation and demonstration for high symmetry composites by examination of the combination of spheres in 3-D fiber architectures. By computer simulation, the level of geometric symmetry composites, a finite cell model and a finite element code for the analysis of sphere have been developed. A method for the fabrication of the high symmetry system has also been developed. Keywords: High symmetry composite, 3-D Fiber architecture, Spherical reinforcement, Finite cell modeling.
