An Evaluation of the Navy's Health Promotion Videotapes

Abstract

The objectives of this study were (a) to evaluate the Navy's health promotion videotapes in terms of changes in knowledge, self-efficacy, behavioral intentions, and self-report of behavior, (b) to determine the effects of a pre- and postviewing discussion, and (c) to report subjective viewer ratings for each of the six videotapes. The purpose of this research was to determine if viewing a videotape could be an effective method to promote healthful knowledge and behaviors among Navy personnel.
