Proceedings of the NASTRAN (Tradename) Users' Colloquium (15th) Held in Kansas City, Missouri on 4-8 May 1987
Abstract
NASTRAN (NASA STRuctural ANalysis) is a large, comprehensive, nonproprietary, general purpose finite element computer code for structural analysis which was developed under NASA sponsorship and became available to the public in late 1970. Fifteenth Colloquium provides some comprehensive general papers on the application of finite element methods in engineering, comparisons with other approaches, unique applications, pre- and post-processing or auxiliary programs, and new methods of analysis with NASTRAN. Partial Contents: Addition of the AUTOSPC Feature NASTRAN; A New Approach to Finite Element Modeling, Analysis and Post-Processing; Experiences Running NASTRAN on the Microvax II Computer; Interactive Plotting of NASTRAN Data on Microcomputers; Computer Animation of Modal and Transient Vibrations; Bubble Vector in Automatic Merging.
