Pedagogical Strategies for Human and Computer Tutoring
Abstract
This report considers the pedagogical strategies of human tut ors and examines the implications of this work for research in intelligent tutoring systems. It briefly describes GIL, an intelligent tutor for simple LISP programming, and considers its effectiveness from the perspective of human tutoring strategies. Finally, it discusses the implications of research on human tutoring for the design of intelligent tutoring systems for problem solving.
