Institutional Violence: Organizational and Psychological Issues in the Military Context

Abstract

This final report examines the organizational and psychological dynamics of institutional violence in general and as they apply in the military context. Reviews of the relevant literature led to the following three implications for further research and policy development: (1) civic education promoting military and national awareness; (2) training that promotes habitual performance and builds an espirit de corps ; (3) unitization, which is to say, the training and development in stable units.
