Analysis of a Vertebrate Retina Model

Abstract

This thesis analyzed a computer model of the excitation-inhibition system in a generic vertebrate retina. This model enhanced edges, eliminated brightness variations, and attenuated noise in an image. Input parameters were changed to determine their effect on the model's properties. Depending on the selection of input parameters, certain objects in a scene would enhanced while others would be attenuated. Keywords: Eye, Retina, Vision, Medicine.
