PTPLU Dispersion Modeling of the Proposed Waste-Oil Boiler, Hill AFB UT

Abstract

HQ Ogden ALC/MAQV requested AFOEHL/EQE conduct the dispersion modeling for their proposed waste oil fired boiler permit application in accordance with the directions of the Utah State Department of Health, Air Quality Division. The state requested PTPLU from the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) UNAMAP series as the dispersion model. This report discusses the potential for lead and sulfur dioxide emissions from the proposed boiler, and the probable impact to housing areas west of the proposed boiler site. Results indicated that no impact exists under most circumstances; however, suspension of operation or clean fuel substitution should be considered under severe winter air stagnation conditions.
