Near Field Gain Correction for Standard Gain Horn Antennas

Abstract

Near field corrections are usually required when the far field gain is to be measured for horn antennas. In this research, the object was to investigate the use of the Geometrical Theory of Diffraction (GTD) for calculating near field corrections. Both the GTD and the equivalent line source integration (LSI) method were used for the calculation of the on-axis near fields for non-corrugated pyramidal horns. For the corrugated horns, the aperture integration method (API) was used. Keywords: Hom antennas; Gain.
