ASW and Super Power Stability - Three Years On

Abstract

The author discusses his 1986 book, 'Anti-Submarine Warfare and Superpower Strategic Stability' which addresses whether American or Soviet ASW developments would so threaten each other's ballistic missile submarines as to be strategically destabilizing. The author wrote this paper from the perspective of new information which has become public in the three years since his book was written.
