Analysis of the Performance of a Single-Auxiliary Sidelobe Canceller

Abstract

The geometrical approach to analysing the performance of simple sidelobe canceller systems is illustrated. Systems with a single degree of freedom and with a two-tap transversal filter are analysed. Throughout, examples are given based on RSRE's BYSON antenna. These show that a single auxiliary channel containing a two-tap transversal filter allows jamming arriving from any azimuth to be nulled over the radar-signal bandwidth. More general results may be deduced from the analysis. Keywords: Great Britain.
