Future North American Air Traffic Control Synergy Human Factors Solution

Abstract

This innovative research effort was proposed in response to the challenge of integrating the lessons learned in developing the American and Canadian airspace systems into the planning process for an interoperable, trans- century, North American airspace system. The intent was to identify opportunities for increasing efficiencies, reciprocal benefits, and co-operation between the U.S. and Canada which would result in a proposed functional organizational matrix. This strawman organization would provide DoD with a framework for mutual airspace management gains between the U.S. and Canada. (rwj)
