Renville County Park Improvements Borrow Area Survey, Souris River Basin Project, Renville County, North Dakota

Abstract

There are plans to construct a levee around Renville County Park (a. k.a. Mouse River Park), as part of the Souris River flood control project. A borrow area was selected to provide any additional material needed for levee construction and also serve as a disposal site for unusable material from the cutoff excavation. The proposed borrow area is on private land. The area was surveyed for any cultural resources material. An historic rock concentration located in the borrow area has no potential historical significance nor is it eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. (mm)
