Development of Software for the Base-Level War Reserve Materiels (WRM) Program
Abstract
This theses investigated the requirements for development of a software program for managing War Reserve Materiel (WRM) consumable assests. Areas examined included the requirements for collection, organization, and presentation of data. The research also examined which computer language was appropriate for the successful implementation, and acceptance by the users. A literature review revealed numerous instances of software programs researched and developed to permit management of other WRM program information. The research followed a ten step methodology for developing a database management system application. A part of the methodology, the researcher interviewed eleven experts to determine program requirements. The study developed the prototype software, which was then evaluated by an expert. Following correction of program flaws, a final version of the prototype software was develop. The program was then delivered to fifteen experts for evaluation. The program was accepted by 86.7% of the experts as being a useful tool for managing a WRM program.
