This manual provides several important types of information for investigating cancer clusters. First, it provides background on carcinogenic hazards and their relation to the environment. Second, it provides techniques for ascertaining cases, defining the population at risk, and for narrowing the scope of an investigation. Lastly, it provides a step by step protocol for conducting a cancer cluster investigation.
